Lash extensions care tips
Please be prepared for your appointment,it will take 1to2&1/2 hours, pets and children are not allowed in the room whilst extensions are applied,if you wear contact lenses please remove them at least 30 minutes before your booking, I'm unable to place extensions on permed lashes but tinted lashes are fine if its been 48 hours.
You will be asked to sign a treatment consultation form detailing any existing missing lash areas, any damage from previous wear and a before and after photo will be stored( eyes only)
lashes will only be applied if its safe and sensible to do so,using a combination of the best suited lash to your eye shape and lifestyle, along with what would be practical for long wear.
You will be reminded at this point that I take no responsibility for you pulling out or damaging your existing lashes, if you pull at an eyelash extension there is around a 75% chance that you will pull out your natural lash along with it, and it may be up to 16 weeks it grows back!!
I am fully insured with Direct Beauty for this procedure and have extensive training along with 7 years experience.
Here are a few hints and tips to get the longest most comfortable wear from your beautiful lash extensions....PLEASE DO NOT let moisture-rich products get onto your lashes,
Shampoo, conditioner, heavy creams or anything oil based will eventually loosen the bond.
Tilt your head back when washing your hair or take a bath to avoid getting them wet.
You will notice some lashes come loose in the first 24 hours, and over all you will notice your lashes dropping as you didn't before, this is simply because they are much thicker and longer than they were and thus more noticable when they drop, and the adhesive takes 24 hours to fully set.
Lash extensions DO NOT damage lashes or make them fall out,its pulling and picking that will, the lash is attached approximately 1/2 to 1mm from the root therefore has no effect on your natural lash, unless they are pulled and picked.
Please resist the urge to pull pick or excessively touch or brush your extensions, it could damage your natural lashes. If at any time you don’t wish to continue, always have them professionally removed, however they are best left to drop out naturally with your lash shedding this has a cycle of around 12/16 weeks but usually all the extensions will debond or shed with a natural lash after 4/6 weeks.
I recommend a top up every 2/3 weeks.
If you want your lashes to loosen quickly use an oily remover on a makeup wipe twice a day holding in place before combing through with the supplied mascara wand firm but even pressure with eyes closed in a downward motion toward the cheek, this should loosen all the lashes in about 24 hours, they will then simply drop or wash away in the shower or bath.(not cotton wool it catches on the bonds and you will end up with a huge fluffy mess!)
PLEASE DON’T get your extensions wet for 24 to 48 hours after application,Avoid working out, steam rooms or hot yoga. The adhesive will reactivate and may cause the lashes to stick together and clump,or lay the wrong way as you would have no control where lashes could shift to.
Do look after your own lashes, over use of mascara will loosen the bond,a water based mascara lightly applied and very gently removed with an oil free makeup wipe(never cotton wool pads and never anything moisturising)
Please Re shape your extensions after sleeping or having a shower, comb them through with the clean mascara wand that I gave you, do this gently to avoid pulling on them.use a root to tip action from the inside to the outside of the eye.
